• Keynote is an Apple program for the creation of slide presentations. It fulfils the same purpose as Microsoft's PowerPoint or the Impress application from OpenOffice.org
• It offers nearly all the graphic design options found in print publications, such as reflections and transparent gradient-fill drop shadows
• With Keynote's "smart animations", vivid slideshows can be placed on a slide. Complex animations of objects on paths (in straight lines or curves) can also be created - including transitions from one slide to the next
• The facility to export presentations as QuickTime movies means that they can also be viewed on PCs. This makes them ideal for use at trade fairs and on CD productions
• Existing PowerPoint presentations can be imported into Keynote, and vice versa. In each case some detail is lost, but Keynote offers the added benefit of export to PDF, HTML and QuickTime formats.
